First time user of a «crank» light! The Energizer name is a pretty good indication of a good product. No surprises here! I love these little «powerhouses». The light is VERY bright. The housing of the flashlight is sturdy and well made. The carabineer is strong and handy with a wide opening and a large enough hook to be useful. The crank handle is cleverly designed to self-protect when it’s folded back into the body of the flashlight and sturdy enough to stand up to lots of cranking. I find these flashlights very easy to crank up when I need a light and they hold a charge well. I bought three of them and I highly recommend them for anywhere (car, house, toolbox, backpack, etc.) you might need a light.Update: Over 2 years later and this flashlight still works great! Fantastic, Reliable lights! I love things that run on alternative energy sources AND I love the idea of human powered lights. I purchased several of these early last year to keep in the cars and other places where I am not as meticulous about checking batteries in my lights. I charged all of them for about a minute and so far all of them still have light without additional cranking. I would not have been disappointed if I had to juice them back up but the fact that I didn’t was the really impressive thing. I am now a fan and will be adding more to the house in the next year as funds allow. And they actually have a very decent level of light, its not like you’re walking around in the dark with one match or something pathetic.They may be a little larger and heavier than regular flash lights but IMO these are worth every penny.
